ok!....I have so many thoughts running through this old head, it is difficult to settle in on one thing and get it down in print.  First let me start with some things I observed this past week.  My Bride and I attended the Association meeting and dance this past Sunday and what a nice dance it was indeed.  We had 7 squares on the floor and in our summer months that was a treat.  It was wonderful to see The Mustang Squares and Victoria Promenaders out in force.  Every club in the Coastal Bend was represented.  Let me get to the Meat of this weeks observation....The Association meeting and the Association Officers in particular Bruce Bednorz.  This man is trying to make a difference and deserves all our support in this effort.  He has his hands full running against the tide of inertia that seems to have settled in our Association but with our help and participation, I think he can and will do some nice things and make the Association relevant and an Asset to Square Dancing in the Coastal Bend.

.  One of the things on the Agenda was a proposed participation fee of $2.50 to TSFSRD in addition to the $2.50 insurance fee we currently pay.  This fee is supposed to help TSFSRD pay for it's programs and expenses.  It was voted that our Association vote yes at the TSFSRD meeting.  I think I was the lone nay vote.  I voted no for several reason.  The main reason is there has not been and was not at this meeting any financial statements supporting the need for the "Fee".  In fact I have not seen any type of financial report from the TSFSRD at any time.  I am one of those "old fashion" dudes who need to know what my money is being spent on and by whom.  I was out voted.   More on this subject at a later date.  Hope to see you in a square soon
