Square Dancing in the Corpus Christi, Texas area is alive and doing as well as most of the country. Our clubs in the summer months are maintaining two or three square at their dances. We are blessed in the Fall and Winter months (Oct.--Mar.) with our friends the "Winter Texans" who come in large numbers to take advantage of the beautiful weather and our wonderful water areas and pastimes. A normal night in those months will see six or more squares at the dances. We are further blessed with having four of the finest callers in the business in our area. Under their excellent tutelage and guidance our clubs's level of dancing are such that they are considered to be mainstream/plus clubs with each club varying the number of plus calls each evening. Our Association, The South Texas Square & Round Dance Association, holds five special Association dances throughout the Association's Year with callers from different areas of South Texas.
