"Catch The Waves"

The Ocean Waves Square Dance Club, begun in 1960, is an active, involved, and growing group. Each Wednesday night, at least three squares, and in winter, as many as ten gather to enjoy the splendid wooden dance floor of Paws and Taws. Regularly scheduled fellowship activities promote a sense of family. A Ladies' Luncheon is held each fourth Thursday, Party night is enjoyed each third Wednesday, and a monthly social takes place at either a member's home or another site. Two community garage sales are held each year, and toys are collected and distributed at Christmas.

Lee and Cathy

Our Caller, Lee McCormack, not only has years of experience and is very talented in calling, but he is also infinitely patient and gifted in teaching the art of square dance. He holds beginner's classes each year and offers weekly workshops prior to the dance which helps prepare for the tips Success of these measures may be judged from the fact that of the 55 active members, 27 have joined in the past two years, many of whom are new dancers.

Cathy, his Taw, not only offers her support, but has been known to don a cap to dance the men's part so a square can be completed. She is currently offering "Next to New" square dance apparel at her "Cathy's Closet". With Lee teaching us how to dance and Cathy helping us to look good while we do, how can we go wrong?
