The Victoria promenaders are bursting with pride that Wayne and Linda Spiller will be installed as the President of the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dance at a business meeting following the State Festival in Wichita Falls on June 11.  This couple is very capable and ready to serve the State and all the dancers across Texas beginning July 1.

Wayne and Linda began dancing in 1980 with the Promenaders, and addition to holding many offices with them, have also served the South Texas Association and the State Federation.  This couple is a true friend and leader to all.

The Promenaders are also proud to announce that Bruce and Glennie Bednorz will be serving the State as Social Secretary and the South Texas Association as President. Bruce and Glennie devote many hours to serve our dancers in Texas.. They are also delighted to announce that they will graduate from Round Dance lessons June 4. They Were inspired by Ken and Lois Clark who completed their round dance lessons in 2005and have been admired by many South Texas Dancers.. On Feb. 18th the Clarks, Sansoms, and Turners attended the Cotton Tromp in EI Campo. Ken Clark Was the lucky winner of both coffee kiddies.

On March 9th we celebrated Linda Spillers birthday with a Banana Split cake. Visitors from Mustangs, Ocean Waves and Gonzales Come and Take It Square attended. Linda Is very deserving as she always whips up a lovely cake for a birthday on dance night.

On March 25, Ken and Lois Clark attended the Come and Take It Anniversary Dance in Luling.

Embrene Hranitzky was in the hospital with a bout of pneumonia. We are glad she is better and enjoyed a visit from her and Walt.

On April 6th, Fred was very much surprised for his 60th birthday. Linda baked a beautiful Italian Cream Cake that was enjoyed by all. Festive decorations and a guessing game was provided by Beverly Bruns. Kim, Rachel, Tyler, Gloria and Edmund Holub, and members of the Mustangs were in on the surprise. On April 27th Linda was baking again, a lovely German Chocolate cake for Bobby Turner.

Our poor Boy Supper was well attended by those who could scrounge up enough clothes and food. Thank goodness for good friends like our square dancers.

The Promenaders had a garage sale on April 1st week end. We had good results and many donations. Many of us came away with treasures of our own. Many thanks to Lorinda and Duane Beal, for having the sale at their home and thanks to all of the Promenaders for your help.

Bobby and Jeanice Turner
